If you have a whole bunch to go into one big file, you can actually
just do a cat *.mpg >file.mpeg.  This only really works well if all
the clips are ripped the same though, typically you'd only want to do
it if all the clips came from the same original big file in the first
place.

If you want to fit together different sized and type clips, you could
probably figure out a way  to make mencoder do it, failing that I am
sure a freshmeat search would yield one or two movie editors which can
do what you want.
