[GLUG-chat] moving on , and growing up.

I think it's about time that I share some of the latest happenings in my world with
some of the people in my world. Some of you might already be aware of this,
but I have resigned from my position at Obsidian Systems, effective the end of May,
to head out on my own doing open source development and contracting.

I will be primarily involved in developing web solutions using the Drupal open source
content management system, but will also be developing products based on Jabber
and other interesting Open Source technologies. There are some very real business
opportunities that I have noticed / been involved in creating over the last year
and a half, and the state of matters at the moment leaves me to think there is actually
no better time than the present to head out on my own.

One of the benefits of being primarily involved in open source web development,
is that my pro-bono community work becomes an important part of my portfolio,
aswell as giving me more time to finish , and develop them to the utmost of my abilities.
As such , I will hopefully have linux.org.za and netraver.org.za (in that order) finished
and live within the next few months. I find fulfillment in giving back to the community,
and I look forward to being able to enrich more people's lives than I am currently able to.

To all my friends, who might be worried about my chances for survival in this dog
eat dog world, I can only say .. not to be too worried. This is something I have been
planning for a very very long time, I have the drive and motivation to make a success of this..
and I also have a very complete business plan for the next 2 years. This move is what
I feel I need to do to continue growing as a person , and it just feels right.

Love and peace ...
Adrian Rossouw
