No, people miss the replies if they're put haphazardly in the middle of
nowhere in the middle of your email without clear breaks between quoted
material and new content, surrounded by non-essential quoted stuff.

I've never experienced anyone with a problem with a correctly layed-out
normal post.  Use '>' as your quote, and place an empty line between the
line you're quoting and your response.  Trim all non-essential quoted
material.  (ie, do what I do)
