[GLUG-chat] Gentoo ... disks

Hi all,

Starting up gentoo ... I get a unreadable screen display ... this is the text bootup ... untill it says "loading User Font" then the display is ok ?

Ideas?

Then the other thing is while the text is unreadable ... it says (I think) something about the disk has a error and I must enter root password to sort out, then takes me to a bash prompt and sits there ... waiting for me to do something ?

The partition table is as follows.

Disk /dev/hda: 122.9 GB, 122942324736 bytes
16 heads, 63 sectors/track, 238216 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 = 516096 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 63 31720+ 83 Linux (ext2)
/dev/hda2 64 7814 3906504 83 Linux (swap)
/dev/hda3 7815 238216 116122608 83 Linux (ext2 - Journalised - ext3?)

What am I supposed to do ?
