Re: GLUG: Topic for the meeting at the end of December

Thanks a million Henti, starting off the evening with a talk on (or leading
a discussion on, I'll leave the content to you ;> ) games and the state of games
on linux would be great!

> currently .. I don't have a 3d card in my machines .. so getting them
running I have very little information on .. I can however cover what 3d cards
are supported .. how they are supported .. and what companies are involved ..

I can give a quick "HOWTO" talk on getting Mesa + Glide up & running on a 3dfx
really quickly.

If people want 2 bring their machines & play deathmatches & such things it
could be fun, although I'm not sure how late we can keep the lab open, I'll
have 2 ask Henry. Else we'll be limited to Quake 1 & 2 on the machines that are
there ;) (and other games like XBlast, Doom, etc of course).

Looks like we'll be scheduling the meeting for the 22nd, most people are
happier with that. I'll keep you informed.

projector / computer linked to screen / etctec ) >

I've seen an Overhead (PaulK's Perl talk) and a projector screen (Jeremy's SOHO
talk) being used before, I'm sure these can be arranged. Just let me know
nearer the day and I'll organise it.

Thanks again for volunteering
