Silly question - hosts file

Hi all,

Just a quick silly question - I have a Linux box here which is connected
to a nameserver inside which the name "localhost" is not defined. For
some reason, localhost is defined in the hosts file, but this hosts file
is not being used - "nslookup localhost" returns "host not found".

My rusty brain recalls a command you add to the resolv.conf file that
tells the resolver to search the hosts file, then do dns, but I'm not
sure. Can anyone put me out of my misery, to my shame I am stumped.

Regards,
Graham
