On a remote *nix system you would do something like: export DISPLAY=mybox:0 on the remote machine and xhost +remotename on your machine (That is the less secure way of doing it, have a look at the x man pages if you need propper security) The only thing that might give some fun and games is that the remote machine specifies fonts not available on your machine. In that cas you can either get and install the fonts or use the remote machine as a x font server and set up your machine to read fronts from there.
