Hi Ryan,
I ran the following script on a suspect hard drive every night and checked
that the badblock count did not increase over time. I simply put the
script into /etc/cron.daily and root gets the email. simply change hdb2
for your drive that you suspect.

PS you can tell from the device number which drive it is
