| Re: GLUG: [GLUG] [OT] What is Microsoft SA's attitude towards Linux? |
Hi all, Well I would like to add my 2c worth if that is okay... ...please... ...please! B-) hehehehehehe Well I must admit that I have hit the honey pot with my new company... ...the Entire Company (including management) is well informed and very... ...very... ..very... pro-LINUX. Let me put it this way, they are all running Linux on their Laptops which they use on a day-to-day basis. All the solutions we offer to our customers are Linux based and because managment supports Linux, the customers are very open to Linux solutions. In fact I am busy implementing an entire Linux solution at a customer (workstations, servers, the works... ...B-))!!! Personally I think it comes down to various factors: 1). Mindset (first internally and then externally of an organisation). 2). Proof... ...which naturally ties into the whole mindset thing... ...once you can prove to a customer that Linux provides more then WinBlows can it is all easy going from there. So I say: "Lets spread the word, lets make everyone aware... ...MicroSlop's days are numbered!!! B-)" Q On Thursday 01 March 2001 14:44, Eugene van Zyl stated the following in a virtual court of law: > Re: Attitude > They're lobbying start-ups pretty hard, even giving their software away, > turning a blind eye for the moment at licenses, to get people to implement > their technology.
