RE: GLUG: SuSE 7.0...

Hej Mike & Glug

I met somebody a couple of days ago who was nearly doing somersaults !!

I enquired and he told me breathlessly that he found a copy of
Suse 7.0 on the cover of a magazine( can't rem what mag prob pczone or something)
for only R89.00 at CNA so scavenge the shelves for a copy!
( maybe maybe not Professional)

whats the difference anyway ?

Oh yeah the boys at Tangent Systems

(Patrick I got the Debian running ........ a cat hair was
stuck on the CD right where the Kernel was located!!)

Ciao

Hi all,

With the October issue of Linux Format there was a free SuSE 7.0 copy too. I got two copies from Linux Format but I have to admit I failed in installing it, got some strange error messages, can't quite recall them now. Anyhow I heard later on that it was an evaluation copy & will try to install it again later, but meanwhile I have a spare copy so if anyone wants to battle with it anyway, I can send it but it will take a couple of weeks to get to you. Should reach you before Christmas if the postmen are willing to cooperate ;-)) First reply gets the copy!

The difference between Professional & Personal I thinq is that you get a longer support period & some more software which companies might use for networking & such & which is not included in the personal version (though I can't exactly recall which software now...excuse my tired brain).

Greetings,

Mascha
