| RE: GLUG: Openldap - anyone got it to work? |
I got it to work using FAQ from www.openldap.org -----Original Message----- From: owner-glug@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-glug@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Graham Leggett Sent: 29 September 2000 06:27 To: glug@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: GLUG: Openldap - anyone got it to work? Hi all, I'm having a nasty time trying to get OpenLDAP v2.0.4 to work - has anyone successfully managed to get this working from the source code? The thing compiles and builds fine, and the slapd daemon starts up without a problem. The problems start with it being impossible to bind to this directory server - it always complains that the bind failed due to incorrect binddn/password. I am trying to bind as the directory manager, the DN and password is defined in the slapd.conf file. I have the SASL libraries installed on the system - unfortunately there is zero documentation about OpenLDAP's SASL support, and I have a feeling it's breaking authentication. Does anyone have a step by step set of instructions to describe how to bind to the server so that you can populate the directory?
