Network card not detected

Hi all,

I installed RH6.2 on a 486 (Previously running kernel 2.0.35 on a 500MB HD -
I just put in a new 10.6GB HD and did a fresh installation.I could not do
the installation on this box initially because I kept getting signal 9
during the installation. I took the HD to a P133 box and the installation
went on fine.When I took the HD back to the 486 box it run kudzu and
detected that the monitor, mouse, and network card was changed but it did
not however detect the new network card on the 486 box. I have checked
whether the card is correctly placed on the motherboard and it is.I have
tried linuxconf and it just won't take it.

It just wont detect the network card.

I need help, someone out there help?
