You don't really use a printer "through gnome". Gnome
just spools through the standard Linux print queues.

I have found the easiest way to set up a SMB printer
is via the RedHat printtool. Choose add and then
select a remote SMB printer. Make sure sharing is enabled
on the Windoze box.

As regards the Epson, you don't say what model. They
are usually supported but on occasion I have had to upgrade
the gs to the latest version...

Works fine with NT4.0 and Win9x...
