| GLUG: when did it went down ? |
uptime: no (It stayed off untill I put it on again). crond: (wasn't running then - it is now) syslog: I couldn't find any usefull activity in /var/log/* Let me explain the situation in more detail: I logged out at 00h24:?? somewhere in between then and 16h00 that afternoon ... little two year old fingers pushed some buttons ... ( a normal procedure followed on keybord buttons & all other sorts of buttons too ) and I was just curious to know if the OS knew the time it was severed from its power supply :-) Ive put in /etc/cron.5min/foobar a date >> /var/log/lastime with date > /var/log/lastime in /etc/cron.daily/foobar (to keep things to size) but this seems so ... crude ? -- regards Benico vd Westhuizen benicovdw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx .......................... disclaimer: the views expressed in this document are typically those of mechengineers, for which iscor cannot be held responsible; strength to the readers. ......................................................................
