automatic partition sizes in RedHat 6.2

I installed Redhat 6.2 and used the server configuration.
(So the installer does all the configuration)
The installer then proceded to create its own partitions.
One of these partitions, the var directory, was created on
its own partition at 32Meg !!! I am getting my services
not working because logs cannot be written.

Firstly, does anyone know why RedHat gets thi wrong
or have I not configured something correctly?

What would be the best thing to do?
Resize the partitions with some tool? (what tool?)
Move the var partitiion?
