Hi there Craig I have installed X4 on a Mandrake system without much problems. I used the RPM's for them I might be mistaken .. but the dependancy warning you are getting is pretty comon in installing new RPM's, though I don't think it will acually break any applications unless there are MAJOR differances between the two ( GNU is pretty good about compatibility ) Upgade the RPM using rpm -U appname.rpm --force to force the upgrade and try the applications to see if they still work ... if it does you can always go back to the older version using --force once again Henti Smith ----- Original Message ----- From: "Craig Main" <craig@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <glug@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 29, 2000 10:15 PM Subject: GLUG: XF86 4.0 > > Hi All. > > If anyone has managed to install XF86 4.0 on Redhat 6.2, perhaps they could let > me know how they went about it. > > I downloaded RPMs from rawhide and tried them last night.
