What he said is that he didn't understand the analogy.  I replied in
private.

Basically, "zanet.org.za" is run by one guy who refuse[ds] to let other
people take responsibility for the network when it was apparent he was
unable to do so.  The "network services" stagnated, and none of the
"peer" operators were entitled to do anything.  The "network services"
code was not available to any of the operators.  It's a "closed" system.

"zanet.net" is the group of basically all the operators except the
"closed" one who split away to take "zanet" to another location in an
open environment.  They couldn't wrest any form of control, because the
other guy had power over the DNS.  Instead, now the moved network is run
by the group.  It's an "open" system.

Of course, I don't particularly care, except that the majority of
people, as I said before, are _not_ there, and specifically moved from
there to either zanet.net or lagnet.org.za, or both.
