We also use a switchbox, ATEN CS-1380 ( Master View Plus KVM Switch ) that
we bought from LightEdge to run 8 servers. In general it works fine although
I have found that if you boot more than one machine at a time the mouse &
keyboard doesn't work. Try booting the machines, but 1 at a time and make
sure that the right "port" is selected. Meaning that you sit and view the
reboot.
