Semi-Off-Topic - Dial-up alternative

Hi all,

Like many others, I need to watch my dial-up internet access from home,
otherwise I might get a monster Telkom bill at the end of the month.

I thought perhaps they offer a different (cheaper) sevice for data
transmission, so I browsed their site for info, but nothing makes much sense
on their price lists.

So I wondered if anyone on this list knows of a better deal - it has to be
with Telkom, doesn't it - like a leased line, datel, diginet, etc. which
would be a cheaper alternative to an ordinary phone line - especially a line
which is not billed by the second, with R1.40 or whatever minimum for each
connection?
